Welcome to
Fern Woods Farm!
Where we seek joy while we
homestead, homeschool, homemake...
and share a little along the way!
A little about us...
We are Maryland homesteaders and we educate our children with homestead inspired homeschooling. We are constantly learning new skills and are working to become as self-sustainable as possible as we homestead on 21 fern-filled acres in the woods. We appreciate good food, good music, a sense of humor and just being together every day. We believe in freedom, being faithful stewards of our land and are always knee deep in farm projects (like starting a firewood business, building farmstands from repurposed materials and writing homestead content). Our family enjoys growing, hunting for and raising our food, making maple syrup from our trees, curling up with a good book by the wood stove in our log cabin, educating our kids with a homestead inspired education and teaching others about
homestead life.
Hi! I'm Tiffany and you will mostly see me running this page! I am a homestead and homeschool encourager, a writer and a content creator. Most importantly, I'm a wife, a mother and a Christian. I am at my happiest in my kitchen baking pies with my kids, getting my hands dirty in the garden or playing music with my husband. I grew up watching my grandmother as a homemaker, where she sowed those early seeds of homesteading in my heart and under my fingernails. I am blessed to be able to share what I have learned with my family and enjoy learning new skills right alongside them!
I was an award winning public school teacher for years before I decided to stay home with my children and eventually start our homeschooling journey. I've implemented my unique teaching style and philosophies into our homeschool approach and love to encourage other families to find impactful and fun ways to learn together.
